You can enjoy craft beers from various breweries.
There are usually between 5 and 8 types of beer on tap, depending on the season and availability. You can also get bottled beer to drink in-store or to take out. The bottled beers are original, with labels designed by local artists and using domestic ingredients such as seasonal fruit. There are also other standard cocktails and drinks to choose from.
Mr. Furusato, the business manager and brewer
Mr. Furusato crafts the beers brewed on-site. They are made with carefully selected ingredients, such as the ‘refreshing beer’ featuring Kawachi Bankan citrus from Ehime Prefecture and the ‘fruity beer’ packed with blueberries from Nagano Prefecture.
Some have been produced as an experiment and may only be available for a limited time, but if you can, you must try them!
The standard beer is the ‘Tokiwa Haze’ also known as a hazy IPA. It has a very bold flavor with undertones of earthy plants.
The craft beer ‘LUSH’, with the rich and fruity flavor of blueberries.
Even for those who are not a fan of beer, these fruity craft beers are quite enjoyable as they are lighter tasting than regular beer. This is a seasonal item on the menu as blueberries are harvested in late summer in Nagano.
VISTA sausage with red cabbage sauerkraut (1,500 yen)
This is an impressive dish, inspired by staple German food but with its unique twist. This doesn’t taste like your ordinary sausage, sauerkraut, and mustard; each has a slightly nuanced taste that resembles the traditional dish yet is more artisanal. The pork sausage, sauerkraut, and mustard are all made in-house!
Taiwan-style mixed stir-fried noodles (1,100 yen)
This is a more Asian-inspired dish with a broader flavor palette. The taste of sesame, green onion, and egg yolk is rich, and the noodles have a firm and chewy texture. You wouldn’t expect this kind of dish at this pub, but it goes well with beer.
The shop also sells original merchandise.
From long-sleeved T-shirts and tenugui cloths to glasses and stickers, the shop allows customers to take home a piece of its unique charm, adding to its creativity and trendiness.
BEER VISTA BREWERY aims to become a local specialty beer.
There is a sense of community in Kiyosumi-shirakawa, and it attracts inspiring people like these artisans. With a very cool interior, tasty artisanal beer, and food, there is no doubt you’ll enjoy your experience.
