“Cafe moment” specializes in espresso.

Inside the cafe, it features a standing counter style, with a few seats available as well.

The menu offers a wide variety of espresso-based drinks

This cafe specializes in espresso, but the menu offers much more than that. You’ll also find cappuccino, caramel latte, americano, macchiato, and more. Some drinks are quite rare in Japan, like the shakerato, a shaken espresso with sugar and a splash of liqueur. Alongside the coffee selection, a few simple desserts and light snacks are available, including focaccia sandwiches filled with mortadella and cheese, which can be enjoyed on their own or as part of a drink set. Everything can be consumed in the cafe or taken to go.

The place is designed for a quick, European-style coffee experience where you stand at the counter, enjoy your espresso, and maybe chat a bit with the barista, and smoothly get on with your day. When the weather is nice, a small table is set up outside, adding a touch of Italian street-cafe charm.

The owner, Mr. Mukoutani, has been honing his skills with espresso machines for over 10 years at various restaurants and cafes.

Having traveled through Europe, he had developed a deep appreciation for authentic Italian coffee, and he realized that a restaurant setting could never truly offer high-quality espresso or a proper variety of coffee styles. Eventually, he decided to focus entirely on coffee and take the leap to open his own cafe.

Also passionate about cooking as well, he makes the biscotti and focaccia bread himself, all freshly baked in the cafe’s own oven.

The coffee beans are from the Italian coffee brand “illy.”

Behind the counter, the owner uses several Italian coffee machines to make perfect espresso with beans imported from Italy.

The cafe has become popular in the neighborhood. When it first opened, many locals came in just to try it out, but they quickly fell in love with the taste. Now, many of them are regular customers.

During our visit, one of them told us, “Ever since I started coming here, other coffees just don’t feel quite the same.”

The popular dessert, Panna cotta

Panna cotta is one of Italy’s most beloved desserts.

This version is topped with ice cream and sprinkled with nuts for an elegant touch.

It has a smooth, creamy texture and a rich, gentle, satisfying flavor. It pairs perfectly with a cup of espresso!

Espresso×Banana

The banana and espresso shake was a completely new flavor for me! It mainly tastes of banana, and although it contains ice cream, it’s cool and creamy, but not so cold that you have to sip it slowly. If it melts completely, you can easily drink it, and it will feel like a thick, creamy coffee.

At “cafe moment,” you can enjoy delicious espresso in a variety of styles.

It was my first time seeing so many kinds of coffee in Japan, and I realized you don’t have to travel far to enjoy authentic Italian espresso anymore.

The cafe is also close to Kiba Park, which is a large park with a museum and plenty of green space, so it’s a nice place to stop by during a walk and enjoy a cup of coffee.
