“Toy Learning Center Milk Pot,” where parents and children from ages 0 to elementary school can learn while they play.

At “Milk Pot Toy Learning Center,” children can engage their five senses through wooden toys, picture books, board games, and more.
The center offers various programs on different days—for example, Mom & Baby Day, painting sessions, and other themed activities. Each time, the toys and materials brought out from storage are carefully selected according to the children’s ages and developmental stages, ensuring the right amount of stimulation and appropriate play. The space is compact, which means children are always within sight, playing, learning, and growing in a safe and well-supervised environment. All electrical outlets are over one meter high for added safety. Please note that all services are exclusively in Japanese.

Ms. Kuroda, who has experience as a nursery school director, is a certified “Toy Consultant” recognized by the Tokyo Toy Museum.
The toys in the pictures may look simple, but it turned out to be surprisingly engaging—proof that even adults can be entertained and have fun while playing. Children can sort the pieces by color, create color sequences, or even make up their own stories by assigning meanings or actions to each bead.

The space features a variety of items, including wooden educational toys, Good Toy–award products, board games, picture-story shows, and a craft area.
Among the most popular toys are those that encourage hand-control skills, such as pinching and grasping.
When parents are unsure about whether their child is developing at the right pace, they come to Ms. Kuroda for guidance. Through play, she can understand where each child is in their development and help them continue to progress, encouraging them to play and communicate using dolls, toys, and books.

Wooden toys are also popular among adults for their soothing scent and pleasant texture.
They offer many different ways to play, and parents and children can enjoy watching each other grow and discover new things together.
She also offers workshops for parents on toy and household safety. We often assume that children won’t try to put certain objects in their mouths simply because they seem too big, but once you test it, you sometimes realize there is enough space for them to fit—making it dangerous to leave those items within reach.

The concept of “Milk Pot Toy Learning Center” is “a place where children and adults can grow and enjoy together.”
Ms. Kuroda also sells toys, so you can buy one that your child really likes right on the spot. If you need to give a gift to a child and are not sure what would be appropriate, consult her and she will advise you based on the child’s age and developmental needs.
The center is not open every day, and visits are by reservation only. Please check the Instagram for schedules and events.
