“Jacuzzi Spa Lien,” a shampoo salon exclusively for dogs
The salon is equipped with carbonated spring showers and enzyme and hydrogen Jacuzzi.
The idea for a jacuzzi spa for dogs emerged when the owner Ms. Hitomi explored ways to care her own dog who had atopic dermatitis. She researched cleaning methods and found carbonated water baths to be the most effective. This led to her opening her own jacuzzi spa for dogs in 2022.
A shower alone may not remove dirt deep around the hair roots. Since skin problems can also affect a dog’s overall condition, the salon focuses on thoroughly cleansing from the roots to help support their overall well-being.
For Ms. Hitomi, the care and attention taken to have your dog cleansed regularly is essential. Doing this regularly can help to prevent the onset of skin disease that can often be difficult to get rid of. While she holds this philosophy, she does not downplay the importance of medicine and advocates for visiting the vet for when problems become more serious.

The salon care is upheld to a medical standard, assuring professional cleanliness standards. Ms. Hitomi believes in providing gentle and natural care while also recognizing the importance of established science. The attention given to creating a comfortable and luxurious environment for your dog is carefully considered.
For washing, the salon uses the “Bathing Support RUNS” shampoo machine. It gently and quickly cleans with plenty of foam, while carbonated water and shampoo are released together from the shower head, allowing dirt to be removed without vigorous scrubbing. Each cycle takes approximately 15 minutes.
The machine initially creates a lot of foam. The foam lessens over time as the bubbles lift away all of the oil and debris. Ms. Hitomi says this is especially important for short-hair dogs and dogs with black fur.
Dogs with thicker coats naturally take longer to dry, which can place more stress on their bodies. To reduce this burden, the salon uses a low-electromagnetic-wave dryer and keeps drying time as short as possible, paying careful attention to the dog’s comfort through every step of the process.
Drying is another part of the process that Ms. Hitomi pays special attention to. She uses a tsubame extract before she starts to blow dry their hair. She is also always looking for more ways to shorten the time it takes to blow dry their hair.
Many dogs are initially afraid of the water when they visit for the first time.
For dogs that have a fear of water, she starts the bathing process slowly and gradually increases the depth of the water. She uses a ladle to pour the water over the dogs to rinse all parts of their skin. This shows Ms. Hitomi’s dedication to providing a safe and relaxing environment for every dog that visits.
“Jacuzzi Spa Lien” offers more than just shampooing. The salon also provides anal gland expression, nail trimming, and partial grooming, as well as regular care and consultations about skin concerns.
Ms. Hitomi hopes that she can improve people’s awareness of how important it is for dogs to be properly and consistently bathed. Right now, her business is being found out primarily through word-of-mouth. Hopefully, one day it becomes normal for people to think to themselves, “I’ve just finished my dog walk. Maybe I can get my dog in for a jacuzzi bath.”
