Ms. Morimoto takes the time to consider each customer’s face shape, hair type, and even the season when making recommendations. She also uses photos to show customers what the finished style could look like, which I thought was a particularly helpful way to communicate her ideas. She also keeps up with trends through social media so that she can offer advice that feels current.
A carefully designed environment focused on comfort and relaxation. The salon features fully reclining shampoo chairs that allow you to lie completely flat, creating a comfortable experience that feels almost like resting in bed.
I really liked the calm atmosphere of the salon. There is a lot of thought put into making customers feel comfortable, and it feels like Ms. Morimoto genuinely wants people to enjoy their time here. It made me feel that customers are coming here for the overall experience as much as they are for their hair.
One of the salon’s popular services is the “Head Bath,” a treatment that uses carbonated spring water for approximately five minutes. The carbonated water helps remove impurities from the scalp and hair, smooth the hair cuticles, and may also help improve circulation.
It is also said to give fine hair more body and resilience, while helping coarse hair feel softer and more manageable.
The “Head Bath” was interesting to me because Ms. Morimoto is not only focused on making the treatment relaxing, but also on improving the condition of the hair itself. She has been researching new developments in hair care and looking at ways to care for hair from the scalp and roots. I liked how much importance she places on understanding the cause of hair damage rather than only treating the surface.
“Curlpia Morimoto Main Salon” has a Japanese-style room on the second floor and can also provide kimono dressing for special occasions such as Coming of Age Day and Shichi-Go-San. Ms. Morimoto has studied in the UK and now also serves as a judge at international competitions. She can also communicate with customers in English.
I also liked the combination of traditional Japanese culture and an international outlook. Ms. Morimoto’s experience in the UK has also helped her connect with customers from different backgrounds, which seems to be a natural part of the salon today. I thought this gave the salon a welcoming atmosphere.
