“le bois” opened in October 2023.

le bois means “small forest” in French.

le bois

The concept of ‘le bois’ is to “bring green life closer”, and it also sells miscellaneous items such as houseplants and original aroma candles.

A wide variety of rare plants are stylishly arranged at the entrance of the shop and as soon as you walk in you can feel their healing power. The aroma of the potpourri and room incense designed by the owner and his team are exquisite and add to the stylish atmosphere.

The second floor serves as a rental gallery space, where solo exhibitions are frequently held. Additionally, it transforms into a bar at night.

At first glance, it may seem easy to overlook, but there is a small staircase leading up to the second floor. Depending on the exhibit, you may be able to participate for free. It’s a mysterious jungle café that you can enjoy during both day and night!

Cloche Ham 980 yen

One of le bois’s signature dishes.

This crushed croissant glazed in honey and filled with mozzarella, ham, herbs and balsamic is an unexpected mix of flavors! It has a nice texture and is very satisfying. It goes very well with the coffee.

Carefully selected premium coffee beans are used and employ the drip method for extraction, allowing you to fully enjoy the original aroma and flavor of the beans.

As a coffee lover this coffee was also satisfying, and the serving size is generous.  The bar counter is bright with natural light flooding in making it a refreshing way to enjoy just coffee or food or both.

Coffee 500 yen

The café space welcomes you with a relaxing atmosphere, where you can feel the owner’s dedication in every detail, including the tables, sofas, lighting, greenery, and walls, allowing you to unwind and relax.

As you go further into the shop, you’ll find a slightly narrow space with a very low ceiling, warm and dim lighting, and wooden furniture and decorative items creating a cozy atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to escape to on rainy days or during busy times when you want to unwind.

le bois

The owner is very creative, with many ideas and projects in progress. This café was a unique experience for me and quite unexpected for the area. Located near Kiba Park and the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, it’s the perfect place to stop by before or after visiting!
