At the “Casual Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) Tavern, Yakiniku Horumon Juban,” you can enjoy premium A5 Japanese Black Wagyu and horumon (offal) at an affordable price.
The restaurant has 40 seats, offering a relaxed, casual atmosphere with enough privacy to enjoy your meal comfortably.
There are also counter seats, where you will often see people dining alone, as well as many foreign visitors, who come for high-quality meat. During our visit, the owner recommended several house specialties. All are must-try dishes for meat lovers.
“Negi-Tan Shunkan-Yaki” (Instant-grilled beef tongue with a generous amount of green onions)”
Grilled beef tongue is one of the most iconic dishes in yakiniku, known for its thin cut and quick grilling time. Lightly seasoned and cooked for just a few seconds over the grill, it develops a subtle smoky aroma while keeping a firm yet tender texture. A defining feature of this dish is the generous amount of green onions used as a topping.
“Mugen Sirloin” (House-marinated beef rib)
The house-marinated beef rib was sliced very thin, allowing it to cook almost instantly on the grill. The marinade gently enhanced the meat without overpowering it, keeping the texture tender and almost melting in your mouth.
“Juban-yaki” (the picture is for three servings)
It is also recommended to dip the grilled meat in egg yolk for extra flavor.
The yolk adds a creamy, indulgent touch, but if it is not your thing, the dish is just as enjoyable without it, letting the quality of the meat speak for itself.
Premium Kalbi, “Saga Beef”
Premium Kalbi is one of the most popular dishes at yakiniku restaurants, alongside beef tongue. Made from high-quality beef raised in Saga Prefecture, these ribs are known for their rich flavor and tender texture. Kalbi is a staple choice for diners who want to enjoy top-quality grilled meat.
“Harami,” the classic yakiniku skirt steak
Harami is also one of the must-order cuts at any yakiniku restaurant, and my personal favorite. It’s not very fatty and has a clean, well-balanced beef flavor, with a tender texture and a slight chew that works especially well when grilled.
The staff will kindly guide you on grilling and the best way to enjoy each cut, so even first-timers can relax and enjoy the experience.
You cook everything yourself, which makes the experience especially fun. The menu offers many small plates with different cuts of meat, allowing you to order little by little. This way, you can cook each piece just the way you like it and add as much sauce as you want.
Enjoy a full lineup of drinks, including beer, highballs, shochu, and many others.
The owner’s goal is to make good-quality meat accessible to everyone. The restaurant offers menus in multiple languages, and ordering is done through a QR code, making the process easy and stress-free, so you can come in and enjoy the experience without any worries.
