A 24-hour rental space with sewing machines available for private use, “Nonbiri Mishin Koto / Rent the Entire Sewing Room” (Mishin means Sewing machine in Japanese)
The first floor is equipped with sewing machines, while the second floor features a living space. There are two user-friendly Japanese brand computerized sewing machines, ideal for beginners, and one overlock sewing machine for professional embroidery, making a total of three sewing machines available.
The 2 standard machines are the most well-known brand in Japan. They’re intuitive and make sewing easy with computerized functions like stitch length, tension, and speed. You can use them with or without a foot pedal, depending on your preference. The overlock sewing machine (serger) allows for professionally finished seams and can be found at the back of the room.
Although the computerized sewing machines are beginner-friendly, instruction manuals are also provided.
You can easily find the user manual on the wall, along with other tools and useful items. There is also a tv on the wall which allows for easy access to YouTube in case you need further assistance. There’s a free Wi-Fi connection too!
One of the features of “Nonbiri Mishin Koto” is that it not only offers sewing machines but also provides a full range of basic sewing tools. Various types of threads, fabric scissors, pins, patterns, and fabric weights are all available for use. Anything found in the store can be used freely.
Of course, you are welcome to bring your own fabric and thread. Additionally, we provide helpful items such as bust forms for fitting and head forms for hats and wigs. The owner continues to add useful tools and items daily based on customer requests.
It is great to have a place outside of home where you can focus on sewing.
The aim of this service is to provide a comfortable space, high end equipment and other tools to be able to work on your projects with ease.
The second floor is furnished with sofas, low tables, and a television, creating a space where you can relax and unwind. The rental fees are set per floor, so please check the official website for pricing details.
If you want to take a break from your sewing project you can relax on the 2nd floor which is very cozy and features amenities like video game consoles, a projector, a TV, a nice sound system, comic books, and air conditioning. As of now, weekday morning prices are the lowest!
The second floor also has a desk where you can work.
You can work and have a beverage or snack; both the first and second floors have cold drinks available in the fridge, along with snacks. It seems to reflect an aspect of student life in Japan!
The room is stocked with snacks and drinks, and there are also speakers available so you can listen to music while you work.
The first floor has a hot water dispenser, coffee, sweets, and more which can be purchased with PayPay.
