“Fukuchi Photo Studio,” a specialty photography studio established in 1920, is now run by the third and fourth generations of family members. With a rich history, it is also used as a filming location for TV dramas.

In addition to taking commemorative photos, ID photos, and portraits, they also offer a photo restoration service that beautifully revives old photographs.
One of their distinctive features is the extensive use of lighting, which gives their photos a painting-like finish and sets them apart from other studios.
Mr. Daisuke, the fourth-generation photographer, continues to carry on the photography techniques passed down since his great-grandfather’s time.
While staying true to the studio’s rich history, he has also embraced modern trends, expanding into food photography, which has been featured in various magazines. Fukuchi Photo Studio has evolved to meet the needs of traditional portrait photography and contemporary commercial work, blending expertise with creativity to capture stunning images.
Fukuchi Photo Studio’s motto is “creating photographs that will convey the emotions of the moment even 10 or 20 years from now.”
The studio is exceptionally skilled in children’s photography, using a lighting setup that allows kids to express themselves naturally without staying too still. During a demonstration with his daughter, it was clear that Mr. Daisuke has a unique talent for working with children, making them feel comfortable, and bringing out their best in front of the camera.

Mr. Daisuke, the fourth-generation photographer in his family, took my photos.
From the moment I stepped into the studio, he made me feel completely at ease, creating a relaxed atmosphere that made the entire experience enjoyable. His ability to guide me through the shoot without making it overly posed was impressive. With his calm demeanor and friendly approach, it was easy to forget I was in front of a camera. The result was a set of photos that felt authentic, perfectly capturing my natural expression and personality.
Fukuchi Photo Studio is also entrusted with taking photos for posters of events such as the Plum Blossom Festival, and Wisteria Festival held at Kameido Tenjin Shrine and documenting religious festivals. Additionally, Mr. Daisuke, as a professional photographer, shoots corporate catalogs.
Given the studio’s reputation, certain times of the year can get especially busy, particularly during celebrations like Shichi-Go-San or graduation season. Booking an appointment well in advance is highly recommended to ensure you secure a spot during these popular periods.
With over 100 years of history, Fukuchi Photo Studio continues to be beloved by the residents of Kameido. They also welcome many international customers for ID and commemorative photography services, so feel free to stop by anytime!
Fukuchi Photo Studio is known for its attention to detail and personalized service. Each session is tailored to capture your unique moments memorably. Come and enjoy a fun, smile-filled photography experience at the studio!
