Fucasgreen – Fukagawa Houseplant Shop was originally a garage that the owner personally renovated into a shop.
The owners, a husband and wife, opened the shop about four years ago on the ground floor of their own home, where they continue to live upstairs.
He is a designer who creates beautiful plant-filled spaces, and every single plant in the shop has been personally selected, purchased, and lovingly cared for right here.
A wide variety of houseplants are on display.
Outside, they showcase plants from other countries, including African countries, Australia, and even Spain! You can find cacti, palms, and other heat- and drought-tolerant species that are naturally adapted to desert conditions and to the European summer. They often recommend these plants to people who want to place them on a balcony, as they can thrive beautifully with plenty of sunlight and little maintenance.
One of the highlights of this shop is its wide selection of staghorn ferns (Platycerium), many of which are mounted on boards or cork.
These are tropical plants can also be found in regions such as Africa, Australia, and South America, and certain varieties can be seen in Taiwan and Okinawa. At Fucasgreen, you can find several varieties in one room, which is something quite uncommon. I had never seen them before — they are stunningly beautiful and fascinating. They can be watered normally with a spray bottle or even in the shower, and you can prune them if they grow too large.
Delivery service is offered for large plants so that you can shop with peace of mind.
Lately, many people have developed a growing interest in plants and want to buy them to decorate their new homes. You can visit the shop in person and take your plants home right away, or they can deliver them to you — their delivery service is available across all 23 wards of Tokyo for purchases over 8,000 yen.
