“MORITO” is a casual French restaurant created by Chef Morito Honma.

After spending three years in Vancouver working with people from many different countries, Mr. Honma felt deeply inspired by everything he learned from them to start his own business, a place where families could come together to enjoy lunch or dinner and share good moments. He puts great care into every ingredient and every dish, always thinking of hardworking parents balancing life at home and at work, as well as workers who come in tired and deserve a truly good meal.

Pâté de Campagne
The pâté from the à la carte menu is perfect for placing in the center of the table and sharing with everyone. It comes with a side of pickles — usually carrot with cumin and gherkin — that add a refreshing contrast to the rich, savory flavor of the pâté.

Chef’s Special Homemade Focaccia
Warm, freshly baked focaccia is served alongside the pâté. Its incredible aroma of olive oil instantly brings a sense of nostalgia — it reminded me of meals shared in good company at cozy restaurants.

Charcoal-grilled Beef with Caramelized Onion Sauce
Mr. Honma enjoys mixing small ingredients and vegetables to create new salads and sauces, so new dishes appear on the menu from time to time.
This is one of the new additions to the dinner menu: a dish inspired by a fusion of cuisines that pairs perfectly with a good glass of wine. The meat has a subtle hint of wasabi, though it’s barely noticeable. I usually can’t eat wasabi, but I really enjoyed this dish. I honestly can’t put into words how good the caramelized onion sauce tastes — you’ll have to go and try it for yourself!

Hachis Parmentier (mashed potato and minced beef gratin with burdock root)
It’s also part of the à la carte menu. A popular recipe in France, this dish has a warm, strong flavor of buttery potatoes, perfectly balanced with the beef and burdock underneath. Baked until crispy, it’s hearty, delicious, and full of seasoning.

Glass wines are available starting from 750 yen.
As expected, there’s a varied wine list, and even the furniture helps create a charming European atmosphere. Although the restaurant is inspired by French cuisine and wine, the menu also features dishes from other countries, such as Indian curry.

The takeout menu also includes popular items such as lasagna and quiche.
They’re high-quality and reasonably priced, so you can take the great taste of this place home or to the office. Among the options available are focaccia in several flavors, including garlic focaccia, curry, and focaccia sandwiches, all priced between just 400 and 600 yen.

During lunchtime, you can enjoy casual French dining, while dinner features course-style meals for more special occasions at “MORITO.”
In this area, many of the buildings are quite old and sometimes need renovation. This restaurant might have to move to a new location in the future, so take the chance to enjoy its delicious dishes while it’s still close by!
