“Nomiya Himawari” is an izakaya where you can enjoy fresh seafood sourced from Toyosu Market each morning at reasonable prices.

The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including seafood and small plates.
The menu feels simple at first, but it actually covers a wide range, from seafood to meat and a number of local specialties. If you are not sure what to choose, it is worth asking the staff. They are used to helping and can guide you toward something that fits your taste.

Fresh Bluefin Tuna Sashimi
The texture is clean and almost silky, with a deep but very pure flavor that stays light on the palate. It is the kind of sashimi that shows how much freshness matters without saying it.

Nikudofu (Simmered Tofu and meat)
After a long day, this is exactly the kind of dish I go for. The broth settles into the tofu, the meat adds a gentle richness, and everything feels balanced without being heavy. It reminded me of something I could eat at home, simple, warm, and naturally satisfying.

Curry Croquette
The curry croquette has a crisp outer layer that gives way to a soft, spiced filling. The curry flavor comes through clearly, with a bit more depth than the usual version. It is simple, but well executed, the kind of small dish that works perfectly with a drink and keeps you reaching for another bite.

Ms. Sugimoto, who is certified as a “Spice Coordinator” and a “Medical Herb Coordinator,” prepares spice curries and curry croquettes that are truly memorable.
I felt that this curry leans more on depth than intensity. The spices build gradually, with a warmth that stays smooth and controlled, never overwhelming. Knowing the chef previously worked in a curry shop in Kanda, a district well known for its curry culture, you can feel that background in the balance and precision. It is rich without being heavy, with a clean finish that keeps you going back for another bite.

They also offer a solid selection of alcoholic drinks, with a lineup that feels carefully chosen rather than excessive. The Japanese Sake I chose paired perfectly with the sashimi. It was subtle and on the dry side, which works well with the clean, delicate flavor of the fish without overpowering it.

It is a welcoming izakaya where you can enjoy fresh seafood, heartfelt home-style dishes, and tasty snacks at reasonable prices. If you are looking for a calm, cozy izakaya, this is a spot that works well when you just want to relax and eat without overthinking it!
