“Okera Shokudo” is a welcoming neighborhood spot where locals easily gather.

Okera Shokudou

The menu covers a wide range of cuisines, including Italian, Japanese, and Chinese, and offers a solid selection of alcoholic drinks.

What I liked is how the menu does not lock itself into one style. You move from Japanese dishes to Chinese plates and even some Italian touches, which fits the izakaya spirit well. It feels like a place where you can just order what you feel like at the moment, especially with a good range of drinks to match whatever you pick.

Tonteki (Pork steak)

The tonteki has that satisfying bite you expect from a good pork steak. Slightly charred on the outside, juicy inside, with a savory sauce that makes you want to keep going. It is the kind of simple, protein-heavy dish that works perfectly with a drink, something you order without over thinking and just enjoy while talking.

Ponzu Sour (Citrus sour cocktail)

The ponzu sour was a nice surprise. Light, citrusy, and slightly sharp, it cuts through the richness of the food really well. It is refreshing rather than strong, the kind of drink that keeps the meal feeling balanced and easy to enjoy.

Kaki Fry (Fried oysters)

The kaki fry was exactly what I wanted. Crispy outside, soft and juicy inside, with a clean oyster flavor. The batter stays light, and a dip in sauce makes it even better. It pairs great with a drink and is hard to stop at just one.

Tagliatelle with Shrimp in Olive Butter Sauce

It looks simple at first, but it is plated with care and a nice sense of balance. The tagliatelle stays light, the shrimp adds a gentle sweetness, and the olive-butter sauce ties everything together without feeling heavy.

“Okera Shokudo” also serves fresh fish—such as cutlassfish and red sea bream—caught by the owner, Mr. Arai, at reasonable prices.

Overall, it is the kind of place that feels easy to drop into. A mix of familiar dishes, solid drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Whether you come for a quick bite or settle in for the evening, it naturally fits that after-work rhythm.
