“seeyoulater” is a select shop tucked away in a quiet back alley near the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Mr. Shibata, the owner who worked for a major apparel company for 10 years, carefully selects the items on display. The brands are mainly from Japanese designers, and some pieces can only be found here in the Kanto area. The shop also carries an artful collection of books, giving the space the feel of a small museum.
Many of the books are rare, out-of-print editions, which makes exploring the collection even more interesting and adds an exclusive touch to the shop’s atmosphere.
Mr. Shibata meets designers directly at exhibitions and studios, listening carefully to the background of their designs, the details of their craftsmanship, and the thoughts behind their creations. This thoughtful process is reflected in the heartfelt way he serves customers.
The shop carries unisex clothing that can be worn by anyone, regardless of gender. Men wearing skirts or women styling oversized men’s pieces can look just as good. There are plenty of such options to choose from here.
Each rack and display is arranged with a sense of balance and aesthetics, which makes browsing here a visually inspiring experience.
Each piece reflects the designer’s attention to detail, making it enjoyable just to look around.
The selection ranges from minimalist basics to bold, eccentric designs, yet they all share one thing in common: exceptional material quality and meticulous craftsmanship. Even though I’m not deeply familiar with the fashion world, I could immediately sense the quality just by touching the fabrics.
“seeyoulater” is a unique shop where creativity, quality, and passion come together. Even if you’re not a fashion expert, it’s inspiring to see such carefully curated pieces and rare designer books. Every visit offers a chance to discover something new, and Mr. Shibata is an endless source of information who will gladly guide you through the collection. It’s definitely a place I’ll return to for inspiration and to uncover new treasures.
Please stop by and experience the place for yourself. It’s the kind of place that just feels “right” the moment you walk in!
