“Sunagin 72,” a bar where you can enjoy karaoke and golf.

The recommended drink at “Sunagin 72” is a highball made with Japanese whisky. As you would expect in Japan, whisky and highballs are the most popular drinks at this bar. The owner enjoys bringing in good whisky brands for customers to try. In Japan, a highball is a simple but refreshing mix of whisky, sparkling water, and plenty of ice — simple, refreshing, and perfectly balanced.

The highball is made directly from a strong carbonation server, and the difference is remarkable.
The finer, sharper bubbles give the drink a cleaner texture and a fresher finish, making the balance between the whisky and sparkling water stand out even more. Very few tourists ever come to this bar, so if you happen to stop by, you will get to experience a truly local Japanese night atmosphere.

In the end, what many people in Japan enjoy most about places like this is simply spending time chatting with the staff across the counter. That warm, relaxed interaction is part of the atmosphere itself. The bar’s team of seven staff members rotate throughout the week.

Owner Mr. Nihei opened this bar with a passion for bringing energy and life to his local neighborhood of Sunamachi. The bar welcomes a wide range of guests, from those in their 30s all the way through to their 70s.
He grew up in Sunamachi, but after spending some years elsewhere, he returned in his mid-30s and found the neighborhood quieter and less lively. Wanting to bring people together again, he started organizing local events like summer bon odori festivals.
Eventually, he opened his own place with a unique concept: a neighborhood spot where people could enjoy drinks, sing karaoke together, and — most importantly — try out the golf simulator! Where else have you seen a combination like that?

The private room with a golf simulator and the karaoke room are perfect for group gatherings.
The place is much more spacious than a typical bar, so besides the counter near the entrance, there is also a larger seating area in the back with big tables, comfortable sofas, and large TVs. It creates a great atmosphere for singing karaoke together in groups, relaxing with drinks, and watching videos late into the night.

Open until 2 am, it is the perfect spot to stop by for a second or third round after dinner.
Many customers have dinner somewhere else first, then stop by here for one last drink, since most places in Japan close quite early. This bar stays open until 2am — something quite unusual in the area — so it naturally becomes a gathering spot for people who enjoy staying out late.
If you want to experience a real local night atmosphere in Tokyo, where you can drink whisky, sing karaoke, and suddenly end up playing on a golf simulator at 1am, this could be a pretty fun place to visit.
