Amrit is an authentic Indian-Nepalese restaurant run by a Nepalese owner.
Nepalese cuisine offers a variety of soup-style curries and homemade-style side dishes.
You can choose your preferred level of spiciness for the curry, from level 1 to 5.
During lunchtime, you can adjust the spiciness using the chili sauce provided at the table.
I found the menu impressively extensive, featuring not only the classics you’d expect but also rare regional dishes you don’t often see, even in other restaurants. I was genuinely excited to explore new flavors and unique combinations I hadn’t encountered before!
Cheers Set: Draft Beer with a Side Dish for 890 yen
This is perfect for just enjoying a cold beer after work. It comes with a small side dish, making it a great little combo. Simple, tasty, and just what you need to unwind.
Nepalese Chicken Sekuwa for 700 yen
One bite of this chicken and I was hooked. The meat is perfectly grilled, full of bold spices and smokiness, a bit like a spicier version of a French brochettes but with a deep Nepalese twist that makes it different.
Vegetable Chow Mein for 800 yen
A hearty stir-fried noodle dish with plenty of crunchy vegetables. The seasoning was spicy, and it brought out the natural flavors of the ingredients. It’s the kind of comforting plate, great for both lunch and dinner.
Fried Momo (Nepalese Dumplings with Spicy Chili Sauce) for 750 yen
I had never tried fried momo before, so I was really curious and pleasantly surprised. Crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, these dumplings were seriously addictive.
Nepal Thali Set
【Lunch: 1,000 Yen (+150 yen for a drink), Dinner: 1,200 yen (includes a drink)】
This set is a generous and well-balanced meal, featuring a mix of flavors and textures. From lentil soup to spicy pickles, sautéed vegetables, and flavorful curry, each small dish brings something unique to the table. I appreciated how the different elements came together to form a satisfying and authentic experience.
Naan Roll (Vegetables and Other Fillings Wrapped in Naan) for 650 yen
The Naan Roll is a tasty and easy-to-carry snack. Soft, warm naan wraps the tender tandoori chicken and crispy vegetables, topped with a creamy, spiced sauce. It’s satisfying to eat but not too heavy, perfect for a quick and filling bite.
Wine Lassi
As a Frenchman, I couldn’t resist trying the Wine Lassi. It’s not every day you see wine mixed with yogurt! Surprisingly, the combination worked well. The slight acidity of the wine blended nicely with the creamy sweetness of the lassi, creating a refreshing and unusual drink.
On weekdays during lunch, naan is all-you-can-eat. In the evenings and on weekends, a special Nepal Thali Set is available.
Whether you’re a fan of Indian or Nepalese cuisine, or just curious to try something new, Amrit offers a delicious and welcoming experience. With a wide and exciting menu, generous portions, and a relaxed vibe, it’s the kind of spot I’ll be coming back to!
