Cafe Kokun” is a cafe opened on the first floor of a renovated house located in a back alley.

Cafe Kokun

The cafe offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere where you can enjoy carefully selected coffee.

Retro jazz music plays softly in the background, adding to the warm, welcoming interior. You can also spot the owner’s love for cats in the charming decor, which gives the space a personal and cozy touch.

The cafe roasts its own beans in-house and grinds them fresh after each order before brewing by hand.

You can choose from a variety of brewing methods, including paper filters, metal filters, cloth filters, and different dripper shapes, such as flat-bottom and cone types. The staff will recommend the best option based on your taste.

Personally, I really noticed the difference compared to the coffee I usually drink. The hand-brewing process gives the coffee a smoother, more layered flavor, and it somehow feels more vibrant and full of character.

The owner adjusts the blend ratio of the beans according to your preferences, allowing you to enjoy a cup of original, custom-made coffee.

It’s a thoughtful and personal approach that makes each visit feel special. Whether you like your coffee bold, mild, or somewhere in between, you can be sure it’s brewed just for you, with freshly ground beans and attention to detail in every pour. The experience is enhanced by the use of high-quality cups, carefully selected and imported from Northern Europe, adding a refined touch to your coffee moment.

Creamy Baked Whole-cut Pumpkin

I was pleasantly surprised by the use of pumpkin in a dessert. It’s not something I usually expect, but it worked beautifully. The natural sweetness of the pumpkin paired perfectly with the rich, creamy filling. The texture was soft and smooth, making it an ideal match with a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Baked Cheesecake with Gorgonzola

This cheesecake is a real treat for cheese lovers. The subtle sharpness of the Gorgonzola adds a unique twist to the creamy, mellow texture of the cheesecake, creating a beautiful balance between sweet and savory. It’s rich without being overpowering, and the depth of flavor makes each bite more interesting than the last. A sophisticated dessert that pairs especially well with a dark roast or a nutty coffee blend.

Banana Nuts with Truffle Salt

This was hands down my favorite. The natural sweetness of the banana pairs surprisingly well with the richness of the nuts and the subtle aroma of truffle salt. It’s an unexpected combination, but it works perfectly, it is elegant, balanced, and addictive. The kind of dessert that stays on your mind long after the last bite.

The reason they can offer such a wide variety of 20 to 30 types of beans at all times is that they can roast small batches in-house.

This flexibility allows them to always keep a fresh and diverse selection on hand, and to experiment with different origins and roast profiles. It’s a dream come true for coffee lovers who enjoy discovering new flavors, and for me, it felt like stepping into a hidden coffee lab run by true enthusiasts.

Cafe Kokun

At “Cafe Kokun” they also offer coffee roasting workshops and specialty coffee tasting sessions.

This space where you can deepen your appreciation for coffee culture. Between the thoughtful service and the owner’s passion for quality and detail, this cafe quickly became one of my favorite discoveries. Whether you’re a casual coffee drinker or a curious enthusiast, it’s the kind of spot you’ll want to return to, and bring a friend along next time.
