Women experience various stages in life, including pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. At every stage, the owner hopes they can stay true to themselves and continue to shine.
That heartfelt wish is reflected in the name “GLOW Pilates Barre Studio.”
Custom-made lessons tailored to how you feel that day.
At the beginning of each class, there’s a brief councelling where you talk about how your body is feeling and any changes since the last session (if it’s not your first time). Based on that, the instructor tailors the session to meet your needs that day. The class may include a mix of floor exercises using props like balls, bands, or foam rollers, as well as work on the Pilates machine, depending on what will benefit you most.
Don’t worry if you only speak a little Japanese. She also speaks English and can explain everything in both languages, so you’ll always feel comfortable and supported during the class.
Most of the clients are women in their 30s to 40s.
One of the key benefits of private lessons is the personalized guidance tailored to each individual.
In my case, I told her I wanted to work on my back. Within seconds she adjusted the Pilates machine and guided me through a series of exercises such as seated, lying down, and more. It is amazing how many things you can do with just one machine.
As I went through each set she paid close attention to everything. She noticed whether I was breathing into my chest or belly, if my back was straight and touching the machine, and whether my knees were aligned. She also realized I needed to strengthen my core and adjusted the exercises to fit my needs. She is incredibly attentive and makes sure every movement is done correctly and effectively.
Some people come with a specific goal in mind such as toning up before their wedding, staying active during pregnancy, or getting back in shape after giving birth. Ideally, the motivation continues beyond that. The real benefit comes from keeping your body moving and taking care of it over time.
The instructor carefully listens to each client’s concerns and current physical condition, while also thoroughly checking their posture and body movements.
One of the main drawbacks of gyms (especially the popular, low-cost ones that operate without staff) is the lack of guidance. Without someone there to correct your posture, exercises can become ineffective or, in the worst case, lead to injury. In a private class, every movement is observed and guided by the instructor, making sure you’re doing it correctly and achieving real results. You can also ask questions anytime if you have concerns.
Lesson fees vary depending on the frequency of your attendance per month.
You can choose a plan that suits your own pace, making it easier to continue without stress.
Please note that the studio is generally open during daytime hours only.
For detailed pricing and scheduling information, please visit the official website or contact the studio directly.
Each session lasts 50 minutes. As of June 2025, the price is around ¥8,000 per class, except for drop-in sessions, which cost ¥10,000. There are also trial classes available, in case you want to make sure it’s the right fit for you before committing!
One of the studio’s appealing features is that you can come empty-handed, as they offer amenities like complimentary water.
It’s ideal for busy people because it’s easy to fit into your day, whether it’s before work, between appointments, or during a break in your schedule. Since you don’t need to bring any equipment, you can just show up and focus on your body, without the hassle of carrying extra gear around all day.
The class takes place in a small private room on the ground floor of an apartment building, and you’re also welcome to bring your child into the training room with you.
Even if your child is at an age where separation can be difficult, you can stay close while enjoying a focused, short session. It’s a reassuring environment that makes it easy to attend with peace of mind.
Pilates is highly recommended for those looking to care for their body after childbirth or establish a regular exercise routine.
In the future, the studio also plans to offer evening classes and open a group lesson space to make participation even easier.
The best part about Pilates is the way it makes you feel. You get a workout and relax at the same time, moving at your own pace without stress or strain. It’s not like going on a strict diet. It’s a gentle, sustainable way to care for yourself, both physically and mentally. Whether your goal is short-term or long-term, I highly recommend trying the private sessions at Glow Pilates.
