“Hand-made Noodles Monden” is a new spot that opened in October 2025.

Ramen [Kuro]
A rich-flavored ramen made with whole soybean soy sauce.
The broth is smooth and rich, but not heavy. It comes with bamboo shoots and a simple topping of pork chashu and chicken. The flavor is easy to enjoy again and again, which is why some regulars visit several times a week. You can also choose from different portion sizes, so it works well for both adults and kids.

A side dish of Chashu Rice Bowl (Japanese Braised Pork and Chicken)
Two types of meat on top—pork and chicken—come in small, easy-to-eat pieces you can pick up with chopsticks or even a spoon if you are not too confident yet. It is light rather than heavy, and incredibly affordable at just 350 yen. If one bowl is not enough, you can always order another, and it will still be very reasonably priced for lunch. They accept both cash and PayPay, and are open for both lunch and dinner.

Ramen [Shiro]
A light, savory broth built on dashi (Japanese soup stock).
It was my first time trying this style of ramen, and I really liked it. The broth tastes quite different from what I was used to, but it is just as gentle and comforting. Every dish left me the same impression: simple, home-style flavors that never become tiring. In the classic ramen (Kuro), the broth offers a deeper, more pronounced taste, while in the Shiro ramen, the noodles take more of the spotlight.

Extra Noodles Tossed with Niboshi (Dried Sardine) Sauce
These noodles can be ordered on their own or as an extra portion to add to your soup at the end of your ramen. It was another new flavor experience for me. If you are up for a full tasting, I would definitely recommend trying a few different dishes.

Rice Topped with Raw Egg
A classic Japanese rice bowl with a raw egg on top is simple but satisfying: you mix the egg into the hot rice for a smooth, creamy texture. It can feel unusual for some foreigners, but eggs in Japan are handled with strict hygiene standards, so it is safe to enjoy. Alongside water and tea, they also serve Ebisu beer and a selection of Japanese sake.

“Hand-made Noodles Monden,” a comforting ramen with a gentle touch.
For now, it is a small family-run spot, with Mr. Monden working alongside his wife and daughter. He hopes his ramen will become better known in the neighborhood and nearby areas, eventually allowing him to hire other ramen enthusiasts and add new flavors. Come and try his home-style cooking and support the journey!
