Rolling Marble Maze

Every piece, from bridges and obstacles to decorations, is made entirely of cardboard. The theme of the decorations can vary depending on the season, with options such as cars, beach toys in the summer, or elements inspired by traditional Japanese festivals throughout the year. In my kit, I even painted Mount Fuji!

The workshop offers hands-on experience with around 20 types of crafts.

Mr. Araya used to work at a materials company, but he always had a creative spirit and wanted the freedom to bring his ideas to life. So, he decided to start his own cardboard business. He even owns a special cutting machine and can create everything from small decorations to full-sized pieces, like the dining table and chairs in their home! The cardboard he uses is strong and laminated, capable of supporting a lot of weight. The kits include small pieces and are easy to assemble. They have finished kits displayed all over the house; it’s like a little craft museum!

Mrs. Araya loves children and currently works as a nursery school teacher. She brings her unique perspective as a childcare professional into the workshops and other activities.

The kits are fantastic for encouraging children’s creativity. In the workshops, dozens of different parts are available for the children to use, so Mrs. Araya doesn’t limit them by telling them exactly which one to use. Instead, the children are often free to choose and decorate however they like. It’s all about having fun and using their imagination.

Adults are also more than welcome to join the workshops and purchase the craft kits.

There are craft kits for different types of projects, designed for various ages and skill levels. Some can be completed during a workshop, while others are meant to be done at your own pace at home. For example, a popular kit is a soccer ball. Since it has many faces, it can be challenging and requires patience. Every kit comes with an assembly manual (only available in Japanese). Also, many foreigners attend the workshops, so don’t be shy, and just join in without worries!

At Tsukurindo, craft kits are sold and displayed at their shop in Kiba, while hosting workshops primarily at shopping centers and public venues.

Mr and Mrs Araya wants to reach everyone. He believes creativity should be for all, and he encourages people to use their imagination to create things. He truly enjoys coming up with ideas, so he’ll be just as happy knowing others are having fun building thanks to his cardboard business.

How about having fun creating in an eco-friendly way?
